Mission StatementTo help web designers build their development skills in the most simple and efficient ways possible. About the AuthorMatt has been designing web pages almost as long as he’s had access to the internet, but branched out into development in 2003 out of a burning desire that he be able to do more. Matt lives in sunny Southern California where he works as the Senior Software Developer at Contexture International. He enjoys Cirque du Soleil, Yorkshire Terriers, About the SiteI launched this site for two reasons – one, because I thought it would be a great way to organize my code snippets (which Ive always referred to as my “toolbox”) while sharing them with the world at large second, I have not forgotten all the frustration and confusion I felt when I was first starting to branch out into web development. Good, free, online resources were scarce especially for beginners. Looking back, theres definitely a better way to introduce beginners to web development assuming only the basest familiarity with web design, and with this site I hope to achieve this. The tutorials on this site assume only that you are already moderately familiar with X/HTML and CSS (unless otherwise listed certain things do have prerequisites, after all). Assuming only that, I will do my best to take you from building pages that are entirely static (straight HTML) to rich and dynamic (either PHP/AJAX or ASP.NET/AJAX). Additionally, I will continually post “toolbox” code snippets online, which I hope will prove useful to beginners, novices, and advanced users alike (it often proves useful to me, and I wrote the stuff).
